Charitable Donation Tax Credit
Did you know that you can claim a tax credit for all your charitable donations including your donations to Community. Centered.?
Assuming that you already donate $200 to charity, your specific donation to the Parish Center project will result in a tax credit of approximately 44% no matter what your tax bracket is. For example, if you donate $100 to the Parish Center project, you would receive a tax credit of approximately $44.

Ways to Donate
Online
Make a donation online with your credit card by clicking the Donate Now button below:

It's easy, secure and convenient. You'll have the option of making your contributions as one-time donations or as repeating donations:
Option 1: One-time Donations
Your credit card will be charged the full amount of the one-time donation. You'll automatically receive an official tax receipt via email. (Note: Subsequent one-time donations can still be done at any frequency for the duration of the fundraising campaign).
Option 2: Repeating Donations
Your credit card will be automatically charged a monthly donation amount. You choose the monthly donation amount and the number of months that you want to donate. This option requires setting up a MyCanadaHelps account so that donors can create one tax receipt for all donations made over the course of a calendar year.
Click here for more information about donating through CanadaHelps.
CanadaHelps ensures the security of its transaction system. On any pages where donors share or store personal information or perform financial transactions, CanadaHelps.org encrypts the data using Secure Socket Layers (SSL), the industry standard security protocol. This allows donors to send and receive information without sensitive data being intercepted. Click here for more information about CanadaHelps' online security policy.
The online donation system is made possible by CanadaHelps. CanadaHelps is a non-profit organization that helps other Canadian non-profit organizations handle secure online transactions. CanadaHelps takes 3.9% off the donation amount to handle credit card transaction costs, which leaves the remainder of the donation amount to the recipient organization.
Pledge Card
Donate by filling in a pledge card. Pledges can be made using cash, cheque or credit card. Giving is made especially easy through monthly credit card donations. Completed pledge cards can be mailed to the parish office or dropped into a collection basket during Mass. Tax receipts will be mailed to you.

Donations of Securities
(Information source: Canada Revenue Agency)
The Government of Canada has eliminated the capital gains tax on the eligible amount of publicly traded securities donated to registered charities.
Publicly traded securities include:
- a share, debt obligation, or right (e.g., stock option) listed on a designated stock exchange;
- a share of the capital stock of a mutual fund corporation;
- a unit of a mutual fund trust;
- an interest in a related segregated fund trust; or
- a prescribed debt obligation (e.g., government savings bond).
Legacy Gifts
Consider including a bequest to St. Anthony of Padua Parish in your will. Your estate will receive a charitable tax receipt for the value of your gift.
Fundraising Events
There will be an array of fundraising events and activities planned. Check this blog often for updates!
Thank you kindly for your donations. Every donation counts towards our goal of a new Parish Center.
