The 2010 Fundraising Dinner & Dance was an event filled with performances, prizes, food and fun! Oh, yeah - we raised money, too: $15,248! Proceeds are going towards the St. Anthony of Padua Parish Center fund. High-fives and fist-bumps to everyone who attended, planned, donated, sponsored, contributed and volunteered. It was a job well done! Thank you!
Here's a brief recap of the evening:
The emcee for the evening was Frankie Cena. Frankie did a great job of keeping the crowd energized and moving the program along smoothly. He also sang the Robbie Williams song "Angels" and the Josh Groban song "You Raise Me Up."
The St. Anthony of Padua School Intermediate Choir sang two songs: "Hot Chocolate" and "Footloose." Miss Kristina Tovarova directed the upbeat and lively performances. In keeping with the 80s theme of the songs, the children were dressed in their best acid wash jeans and neon legwarmers. After the event, many guests commented that the choir was their favourite part of the evening.
Boris Wong and Sammy Kung took to the dance floor to showcase their elegant dance moves. They performed the cha cha and jive.
Guests took their turn on the dance floor after the 12-course meal. DJ Danny Luscano spun the tunes.
Big prizes! The top two raffle prizes were a 32" Toshiba LCD HDTV (donated by Bert & Marie Kalaw) and an Apple iPad. The 50/50 jackpot was a whopping $895! The winners of the 50/50 draw, Sev & Edna, generously donated the money back to the St. Anthony of Padua Parish Center fund.
